I don't understand why Catholic people call priests "father". In my bible it says you aren't to call another father but your Father in Heaven.

First off Jesus, Peter and the disciples were Jewish, so the Bible comes from the Jewish, in which in Jesus time they did not believe he was resurrected, so the new testament came from his disciples and telling of what Jesus told them, and those chosen by God to write the gospels which were Mark, Matthew, Luke and John. The old testaments were written by those chosen by GOD.

There are many different ways to look at every religion. We should not expect to fully understand what we don't fully understand. We should never speak down on each others religions, no matter what the belief systems are that they live by. I think every human being is beautiful in every way inside and out. We are made in God's image. Too many questions out there not enough faith. I don't believe we need a house to pray from for God to hear us butt I do not condemned anyone who feels otherwise. I have no questions about other people's faith because I should only be worried about my own. Where is the world directed today where are we going? The answer lies with us. We are all loved by God no matter what their religion. That is what I believe. Why look down on another because of the way they were raised and the beliefs that were bestowed upon them. Please help me to spread the word about understanding, acceptance and love for each other and for our beliefs no matter what they are.

Being raised a protestant i can see the misunderstanding one may have. I have recently become a member of the Catholic Christian church. First of all if you have not attended a mass then you have no idea what our teachings are. Secondly if you have attended a mass you would know Jesus is our truth and life. Our saviour. We do not use the same Bible as all christians do. We use the true Bible all of its books. We didnt omit the ones we dont agree with. We do not worship Mary or Saints. We hold them in utmost respect. Afterall she gave birth and raised our Lord. Saints are people who lived their lives for christ we pray with them knowing they can not answer our prayers but can intercede with Christ. Statues of Mary and Saints are not worshiped. They are a mere reminder of loved ones in heaven, how we should live our lives, and a symbol of our faith. Why wouldnt someone want to live their life like a saint. I would question their faith if they didnt.

Do you realize that the Holy Bible was published and translated by people? The words did not just magically appear on the page at God's will... You are interpreting interpretations. There was also much controversy on what did and did not make it into the "official" Christian bible based on what sinners and corrupt leaders were after at the time (you needed money to publish books) and there are many different versions. These stories and teachings were written in an entirely different context with different issues and behaviours to be promoted for healthy living/well-being and acceptance into God's Kingdom based on the EVIDENCE these people witnessed in their time on what it was to lead a good life and what behaviours would benefit/hurt society. We are in a different age now with new issues arising and some old issues becoming irrelevant.

We don't need popes giving us direction because we have the Holy Spirit showing us the mind of the Father, telling us things to come so we don't need popes because I've gat the Holy Spirit who was promised to us by Jesus.
