@ : Thanks a lot for the enlightenment, but i think all you have mentioned would not be complete without a good communication skill, one of the attribute of a good teacher is a good communication skill been able to pass across your message to your student in an effectively way is as good as doing your student good favor they could ever get in life.

I agree with everything you say but I would probably preface all of this (although it is implied in several of your points) with the need to never forget your audience. I know this is similar to your point about living children but I refer to the actual individuals in front of you. An interest in the actual individual human beings, their interests, passions, anxieties, and then making them feel they matter, comes before everything else. A perfectly prepared lessons, delivered with complete conviction and enthusiasm, is useless if the students do not feel it is relevant to them.

This is a nice "mom and apple pie" list with which it is very easy to agree, but would be much more helpful if it were grounded in cited research - there is a great deal out there on effetive teaching and teachers. What people "think" is important is generally what leads our profession down unproductive roads. Those who are interested for a great starter reference/resource should look at John Hattie's book, EFFECTIVE TEACHING.

Well written! Very true, except that I disagree on the usage of power points. There is no such restriction as this should be done or this should not be done in a class, as long as it is interactive and will not strain the children. Yet times, it is good to use power point to illustrate things which otherwise cannot be illustrated. That point may be replaced by inquiry. A good teacher always questions in the class.
