Poor eating habits is the last on my list of problems. Maybe raw vegetables are more likely the cause of my LLQ. It is an easy sling to tout off your underlying opinion of the general population but unhelpful unless foods you suspect contributing to a poor died are named. Taking anti-rejection drugs as I do or others drugs that irritate the colon could be listed as well.

I had lower left side abdominal pain for about 20 years! I saw a gastroenterologist , my family doctor, had lots of tests done. They couldn't find anything. Now my doctor has since retired, and I had to find another doctor, during my first visit I had to inform him of my history. I almost didn't tell him about my daily pain because I had put up with it for so long, but I did. He suggested cutting out coffee, and anything with caffeine in it. I am not a big coffee drinker, maybe one or two a day, so I didn't think it would work. But, guess what! A week after my visit, I am pain free. I hope it isn't just a coincidence! No coffee for me! I am so happy, and I'm haven't taken pain meds since!

I am 5 years down the line & after having various, extensive tests ranging from blood tests to colonoscopy & gastroscopy & lossing 3 stone in the last 2 years & still continuing to lose it I am still told time after time "its IBS"!!! I never get hungry. I can eat the smallest portion & be uncomfortably full. I only eat sometimes as my blood sugars get low & I have the shakes. I also used to enjoy a little drink (of alcohol) on a weekend. That has now stopped as my stomach can't handle it anymore & I always have to do a "tactical vom"!! I really don't know what else to do now. Anyone with any ideas??? Please?? Thanks. Nicola.

@ : Hello Nicola, my Aunt just went through this same thing, she found out, she had a problem with food digestion. The nerves in her stomach weren't working as they should, which cause her stomach to only eliminate small amounts of food, the fullness came from food still trying to digest. She is now on meds for 3 months and her Dr. did inform her that it should correct itself by then. She still eats 6 small meals daily but she eats now. She also had Hiatus Hernia, acid reflux, and Dyspepsia. I truly hope this help

@ : Your symptoms sound similar to my daughters before she was diagnosed with Celiacs Disease. Most people with Celiacs are usually diagnosed wit IBS for years.

Hello ladies, I have also been dealing with this issue for the last three years. Had an x-ray, ultrasound, rectal exam, HIDA scan, blood work, all turned up with nothing. Went to a GI doctor who recommended the FODMAPs diet-- it is a strict elimination diet of several foods. Within two or three days I felt so much better. You can gradually add foods back into your diet to see what your body does and does not respond to. A few days out of the year I still have an episode where I feel bad, but a few days compared to every single night before trying FODMAPs is what I call vast improvement.

@ : @ Lisa I went many years with some of the same symptoms, I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis or IC....it's a bladder condition causing acids to leek through microscoping holes in the bladder. Thought it would give you something to check with your Dr. about. Good luck

I have been having lower left abdominal discomfort for the past few days. It feels like there's something inside. There isn't any sharp pain or whatsoever. My doctor said that it is constipation. But I'm passing motion regulary on a daily basis.

I've had tenderness or just pain in a small area of my lower left abdomen (a lot like the picture) and it started about a month or two ago. It only lasted 2 days and was very painful. now it's back but much less severe! What could it be?

Nicola, my name is Rochelle. I am a diabetic and most of the nerves in my stomach do not work. Only about 20% of what I eat gets digested in one hour. It is called Gastroparesis and it stinks. But giving up caffeine has helped some. However I am not feeling well at the moment!

@ : Take some cut up pieces of ginger root.......or candied ginger if unavailable.....ginger is a perfect 'comforter' for a stomach pain/upset and a natural anti-inflammatory.....turmeric mixed with a little black pepper should give similar relief.
